Yoga guru Ramdev on Monday made a U-turn and denied that he had said Narendra Modi was in hurry to become the Prime Minister of the country.

Reacting to the reports in a section of media that reported Modi-Ramdev honeymoon was over, he said that he was fully backing Modi as the top post of the country.

Ramdev was unhappy over denial of BJP tickets to his supporters in some northern states of the country in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections. However, he said there was no question of his falling out with Modi or the BJP. “Some reports appearing in newspapers have twisted my remarks that I made on Sunday. I and Modi are both Fakirs, so where the question of us two enjoying honeymoon” the Baba said in a jest.

He reiterated that there was no alternative to Modi. “Only he can get the country out of the present mess,” he added.

Ramdev also raised fresh questions on AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal’s motives. “He is nothing but a ‘kathputli’ (puppet) of the Congress. That is why he wants to contest against Modi from Varanasi and not against “corrupt” politicians of Congress and other parties, who have brought bad name to the UPA government through multi-crore scams.
