The BJP has decided to deal with dissent within the party with a firm hand. On Monday, Delhi BJP chief Madan Lal Khurana dissolved the entire New Delhi district as workers of the district under Kidar Nath Sachdev had been protesting against the party's choice of candidates in the New Delhi area.

Sachdev, who was New Delhi District chief, had been suspended last week, but Khurana had agreed to keep him if he promised not to indulge in any more anti-party activities. According to party bosses, Sachdev failed to keep his promise, which resulted in the entire district being dissolved.

The party is facing dissent from other quarters as well. Party candidate from Shahdara, Ved Vyas had to face angry party workers when he visited the constituency on Tuesday. He was labelled an outsider and some workers even attacked his car.

In Nasirpur, supporters of former legislator Vinod Sharma organised a dharna and decided to oppose the party candidate Chandrika Thakur.
