India’s youngest IIM – Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management, Shillong – has from July 1 begun a six-month course it claims is packaged to get through economic downturns.

The introduction of the “practice-oriented” Sustainable Global Enterprise and eMarketing course was timed with the completion of a year by IIM-S. It is targeted at working executives, corporate honchos, bureaucrats and senior defence officers.

“This course has been designed to bring people from important fields together and take on fiscal challenges collectively besides trying to provide situation-based solutions,” an IIM-S spokesperson said from Shillong. He, however, added the impact of the course would decide its efficacy in the days to come.

The announcement of this new course was made on Friday, the eve of IIM-S’s first anniversary.
