The new time-table will be zero based. Under this the timings of all the trains will be reviewed and set anew.

Under the initiative, the passengers will get a much needed relief from the late arrival and departure of trains, claimed railway sources.

Besides, efforts are also being made to increase the speed of these trains.

Not only this, with the new timings of the trains, the number of undesired stoppages of the trains will also be reduced to a considerable extent, said the sources.

At present certain trains even halt at those places which are certainly not desirable, which increases the journey time besides resulting in late running of the trains.

"Moreover, a plan is also being formulated to run the trains at the timings which suit the rail passengers.

With this, trains will neither start their journey in too early hours nor in too late hours", said the sources.

These zones cover the northern and eastern region of the country.

Sources informed that a committee has been formed for carrying out the work of the new time-table. Chief Operating Manager (COM) North Central Railway has been made the nodal officer of the committee.
