As per the new technique of ‘invitro maturation’, the eggs were collected early in the maturing cycle and hormones were added to the eggs to make it mature enough for fertilisation. This is done in a specialised lab environment, created similar to the human body.

The eggs were checked at frequent intervals for particular growth patterns reflecting maturity as on the day of fertilization in the human body, as per the release. In the conventional method women with ovulation problems like ‘polycystic ovaries’ in which eggs do not mature would have to take costly and high doses of hormones during the maturity period of the eggs.
