Last July, Jaygopal Poddar wrote his first novel 'Deceivers'. This July, he is waiting for the release of his sixth book, which will register his entry into non-fiction genre.
Poddar's first work got published at the age of 12 in Children's World magazine, followed by an array of stories in various newspapers and magazines.
But Poddar's passion took a back seat due to family commitments. When he crossed 50 years of age, he decided to resume writing.
After spending 17 years in marketing profession, Poddar joined the non-government organisation (NGO) sector. When he became the director of ActionAid, an international NGO, he decided to pen his experiences.
Having already written five books in the past one year, Poddar has completed other four, which are at different stages of editing. Currently, he is working on his tenth book.
The first two books were based on his own life. While he sneaked into crime fiction with 'Millennium City' which revolves around Gurgaon, he entered the teenage world with 'The Landlord's
Secret - Another Story'. He is set to publish his first non-fiction 'Truth is stranger than fiction' later this month.
When asked about the frantic pace, he said, "When you cross 50, you will have a lot of stories to tell. Moreover, there is no dearth of plots in the genre of crime and mystery. Newspapers are riddled with them."

{{/usCountry}}He also sent an entry to the Guinness World Records that turned down his request, saying that the current record belongs to a Japanese author who wrote 20 books in a year's time.
He has now sent an entry to the Limca Book of Records.
