Nine killed, 20 hurt in J&K minibus accident

The passengers were returning from a wedding party when the bus fell into a 200-foot deep gorge.

Nine persons were killed and 20 were injured when a minibus carrying a wedding party skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The accident occurred in Billawar, about 100 km northeast of Jammu around 1 am, the police said.

The members of the wedding party were returning to their village Gorah Balian, when the bus went out of control on the hilly road and fell into a 200-foot deep gorge.

The toll could go up as some of the injured are in a critical condition.
