District SP Dr Boralingaiah today said no arrests had been made so far in the case, but exuded confidence of nabbing the culprits soon.

"No arrests have been made in the case so far," he told PTI here. The police, however, had intensified the search to nab the elusive accused, he added.

The search had been intensified after Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah yesterday ordered the police to immediately trace them.

The 22-year-old student from Kerala was allegedly kidnapped in Manipal University campus on June 20 night as she was returning to her room from library and gang-raped.

Boralingaiah exuded confidence of catching the culprits soon as the police have got some leads. "Eight police teams have been working on the leads and hoped to crack the case soon," he added.

Police has also provided adequate security to students studying and staying in Manipal University campus, he said.

Kerala Government too has contacted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and asked for a thorough probe into the incident, as the girl hails from Kerala.
