"Even in biting cold, pupils have to sit on floor as they do not have any other option. The state government wants to provide poor children also all facilities. But for the last one decade this school has not received grants," said a teacher of a government school.

The government schools in Silokhra and Jacobpura have not received the grant for infrastructure upgradation for the last 15 years.

"When it is too cold, we do not go to school. If it is windy how can you sit in the open for hours together," said a student of Silokhra government school.

"Had we been well off we would never send our ward to a government school. It is because of our financial condition that we are sending our children to such schools," said the father of student.
