"There is no question of giving clean chit when inquiry into the mattter has not been completed... The Law and Judiciary Department is yet to give its opinion," Patil said referring to reports that preliminary police inquiry has found nothing objectionable in Raj's speech last Saturday.

"As per the procedure, the intellegence people analyse speech when it comes to Home Department and then send to Law and Judiciary Department," said Patil.

"Until this procedure is complete, it won't be alright to say that clean chit has been given," Patil, who also holds the Home porfolio, added.

Patil addressed a meeting of top police officials including DCP A N Roy, Mumbai Police Commissioner Hassan Gafoor, today to take stock of the Raj Thackeray issue in the backdrop of vociferous demand from several quarters for stringent action against MNS chief.
