No donations will be accepted

Volunteers of India Against Corruption (IAC) holding last-minute meetings, makeshift stage in place, huge screens meant to beam live pictures from the MMRDA grounds in Mumbai, as well as Parliament debating the lokpal bill in Delhi.

Only unlike the campaigns in April and August, this time round Team Anna will not be accepting donations from the public — neither at Delhi nor at Mumbai.

"We are going to display boards stating that we are not accepting any donations this time," said Ram Kumar Jha, an IAC volunteer, in-charge of logistics at the Ramlila Maidan.

In the last two occasions —Jantar Mantar in April and Ramlila Maidan in August — Team Anna had invited donations from the aam aadmi, with amounts ranging from Rs 21 right up to Rs 25 lakh.

In August, Rs 2.52 crore (approximately) had been collected in donations. And even after deducting administrative and other logistics’ expenditure, IAC was left with Rs 94 lakh.

"We are going to ask people to stay at the Ramlila grounds only between 10 am and 6 pm," said Prashant Bhushan.

All core members of Team Anna — Prashant Bhushan, Shanti Bhushan, Gopal Rai, Sunita Godhara and Navin Jaihind — will participate in the relay fast.
