"The Bureau has no information on that," Deputy Director General of Narcotics Control Bureau Om Prakash told reporters at a United Nation function here when asked if terrorism in India is being partly funded by money generated from narcotics trade.

Narcotics Commissioner of Central Bureau for Narcotics Jagjit Pavadia said, "There is no link between them (narcotics trade and terrorism)...there is no evidence about it."

Asked if militancy in Jammu and Kashmir is being funded through narcotics trade as the agency has in the past frequently destroyed illicit opium cultivation in the state, he said, "We do destroy illicit cultivation but we have no evidence to suggest that it (cultivation) is being done by any particular militant group in the state."

He, however, said though the Bureau has no evidence of narco-terrorism being prevalent in the country, other intelligence agencies might have information on that.
