A head constable, Naresh Kumar had fired about 35 rounds from his service rifle at the gate of the plant killing senior sub-inspector C S Mishra, injuring woman constable Jannab Bibi and two other civilians before turning the gun on himself.

Police sources here maintained that the investigation will progress after receipt of the post-mortem report, while the CISF said, the probe by a deputy commandant was still in progress.

Both investigative agencies were still examining the possible reasons for the firing, saying that the statement of Janhabi Bibi who was still critical at the Ispat General Hospital would give a lead into the investigation.

Inspector General, CISF from Bhilai, Sunil Ray, who camped here for two days left for Bhilai last night after the investigations.
