A few days back, the Kotwa residents had complained to the district administration about irregularities in election of ‘Asha’ workers. They had also said the doctors and staff posted at the Kotwa PHC were selling government medicines. Consequently, the DM set up an inquiry into the matter. Besides, senior officers of the health department, and SDM Phulpur were made inquiry officers. Dr Singhavi said prima facie no irregularity was found in the recruitment.

“I had a talk with the gram pradhan and other panchayat members and they all denied having made any such complaint. The staff and doctors at the Kotwa PHC were also not found selling medicines. All the related records were checked and no irregularity was detected,” he added.

But it functioned for a few days and suddenly developed a technical snag and it would be repaired in another two days.
