No leads in petrol pump murder

SIX MONTHS after the gruesome killing of a youth at a petrol pump on the Bhopal-Raisen route, police are yet to make any breakthrough and are groping in dark about the identity of the culprits.

SIX MONTHS after the gruesome killing of a youth at a petrol pump on the Bhopal-Raisen route, police are yet to make any breakthrough and are groping in dark about the identity of the culprits.

Afzal, 28, was murdered at the Petrol Pump near the Dargah Sharif on the night of October 1 last year. Unidentified robbers had struck the petrol pump at around 3 am and escaped with Rs 50,000 cash, a gun and a cell phone apart from coins after killing the petrol pump owner, Afzal in cold blood. Raisen town had observed a shutdown to protest the murder and express their solidarity towards the aggrieved family.

Madhya Pradesh Petrol Pump Association raised the amount of reward announced for the arrest of the killers from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 but until date there is no clue about their identity. Petrol pumps had also observed a daylong strike. Further, officials and political leaders were handed over memoranda urging them to take action.

SP JS Sanswal said the police are investigating the case and the hunt is on for robbers.
