The government said it has not approached the Union Home Ministry for names of officers, from which the possible replacement for Khoda could be selected.

"There is no move to replace the DGP and no request has been made to the Ministry of Home Affairs for a panel of officers," an official spokesperson said in a statement.

The clarification came in the wake of reports in a section of the media that the 1974-batch IPS officer was likely to be replaced.

"The report carried by a section of press are not correct," he added.
