One day before the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards begun, Vivek Oberoi did it again. On being asked to comment upon the absence of IIFA’s ambassador, Amitabh Bachchan, he said, "No one is bigger than the awards."
He spoke about Project Hope and how IIFA helped him seed money for the initiative. The actor plans to launch a special school that he will take up North later. Salman Khan arrived in the wee hours but didn’t make an appearance until much later, when his bodyguards shoved guests off at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel’s lobby, as they escorted him to the other end.
The proceeds of the cricket match between Bollywood and the Sri Lankan cricketers will be diverted to UNICEF and Habitat For Humanity. Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakara said, “Now we have a Sri Lankan actress, Jacqueline Fernandez, in common who will hopefully bridge that gap further.”
