The Bharat bandh sponsored by non-Congress parties on Monday to protest against price rise failed to evoke any response in Congress-ruled Meghalaya, officials sources said.
Business continued as usual and life was normal, according to reports from the seven districts.
Banks and other business establishments were open and there was no impact of the bandh on the movement of vehicles, both pubic and private.
Officials said there was no untoward incident reported from anywhere.
Life in Arunachal Pradesh remained unaffected by the Bandh.
The opposition BJP had earlier announced that they would demonstrate against the rise in prices of petroleum products, but were not calling a bandh because of the 'Dree' festival of the Apatani tribes which falls on Monday.
