Meanwhile, US Central Command said joint American and Saudi airstrikes targeted logistics and weapons sites used by Iran-backed groups following a wave of drone attacks. With tensions escalating across Jordan, Iraq and the Gulf, fears are growing of a broader regional confrontation.
