In KrantiveerThe Revolution, Jahan plays the daughter of Patekar, and takes the story of the journalist who leads a revolution against terrorism and corruption forward.

“Ninety nine per cent of the actresses make their debut with romantic movies, with songs and dances. I asked myself if I, too, wanted to follow a conventional approach, and the answer was ‘no’,” says Jahan. “I want to demonstrate my caliber by playing a role that other actresses would possibly get after working in five or six films,” she added.

For Jahan, songs and romantic scenes — which were few — came naturally and were easier, the bigger challenge was in the dramatic scenes. “I had to apply myself much more in the dramatic scenes of the film,” says Jahan, who was handed over a lengthy dialogue sheet for the climax, “It remains one of the most memorable scenes in the film.”
