"We strongly support the government's foreign policy which is marked by continuity. But, Natwar Singh may have his own views," AICC Spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi told newspersons when his attention was drawn to Singh's reported statement describing the moves of of the Indian government during the recent developments in Nepal as a "flip flop".

He said the Congress fully supported the foreign policy of the government. "The Party does so because the policy is consistent and continuous," he added.

Dr Singh said the Government always stood for and called for a multi-party democracy in Nepal.

"The policy is marked by continuity and there has been no sudden jerks with regard to Nepal," Singhvi noted.

He said the Indian government had been moving on the same direction over a period of time.
