The strong rooms, where the Electronic Voting Machines were stored, were opened and the machines checked in the presence of candidates and observers this evening, an EC spokesman said.

No water seepage was found in three rooms though traces of it were there in the fourth room, but the EVMs are safe, he said.

Candidates in two constituencies of Sarojini Nagar and Mohanlalganj had lodged a protest yesterday amid concerns of seepage from overflowing overhead water tanks of the government polytechnic building in which the EVMs were stored.

Polling in the two constituencies was held on February 19. The counting will take place on March 6.
