Shaken over the Noida police complicity in protecting Nithari serial killers the state government today transferred the SSP RKS Rathore and suspended circle officer (CO) Dinesh Yadav, who was transferred to PAC Agra on Friday.

Announcing the government decision Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh said “telephone conversation between CO Dinesh Yadav and PWD Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav was part of protocol”. Condemning Nithari killing Singh said that the government had not been trying to protect any officer and already six police officers had been placed under suspension.

The government’s belated decision to transfer SSP Rathore was based on his indictment by two-member high-level committee, which had probed the issue before the case was handed over to the CBI. Singh accepted that there was slackness on the part of the local police in the investigation of the case but “for this lapse the chief minister could not be blamed”, he said and added that Yadav had taken quick action after the exposure.
