The nomination process, which begins from March 15, will go on till March 22 except for one Sunday and on the day of Holi festival that falls in between.

This time, candidates would have to follow some new guidelines. "Candidates are not allowed to leave any section in their affidavit empty. Also, just like the Delhi Assembly election, they would have to mention their social media accounts," said a senior official of the Delhi Electoral Office (DEO).

The electoral office will strictly monitor that no candidate brings more than five supporters inside the office of the district electoral officer. They can also bring only three cars each, which have to be parked at least 200 metres away from the DEO's office. "They are also not allowed to carry out a procession or create noise outside the DEO's office," he said.

"Though the nomination process begins on Saturday, we are not expecting much action on the first few days. As per our experience, the largest number of nominations are filed in the last three days," the official said.

The Delhi Electoral Office has set up eight complaint centres - one each for each constituency and at the headquarters - to receive complaints about any violation of the model code of conduct. The toll-free number for registering the complaints is 1800111400.
