Nominations for Gangapur civic polls begin

NOMINATION PROCESS for the civic body election in Gangapur Nagar Panchayat, Ramnagar Palika and Varanasi Nagar Nigam has begun in Varanasi from Tuesday. The nomination process was held at zonal offices of Varanasi Nagar Nigam, Tehsil and Collectorate premises on Tuesday. A total 11 candidates filed their nomination papers in Gangapur Nagar Panchayat.

NOMINATION PROCESS for the civic body election in Gangapur Nagar Panchayat, Ramnagar Palika and Varanasi Nagar Nigam has begun in Varanasi from Tuesday. The nomination process was held at zonal offices of Varanasi Nagar Nigam, Tehsil and Collectorate premises on Tuesday.

A total 11 candidates filed their nomination papers in Gangapur Nagar Panchayat.

All the candidates belong to Samajwadi Party (SP). The SP fielded Vijay Yadav for the post of chairman of Gangapur Nagar Panchayat.

There are 10 posts of corporators and one post of chairman in Gangapur Nagar Panchayat.

No candidate turned up today to file nomination papers in Ramnagar Palika.

Similarly, as many as 14 candidates filed their nomination papers for the posts of corporators in Varanasi Nagar Nigam. No nomination paper was filed for the post of Mayor in VNN today.
