Unlike earlier process under which an applicant had to approach the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda), now building plans can be certified by any architect listed in Huda's panel.

The new rule which has been effective from December 1 will simplify the process of getting approval of building plans in residential and industrial areas across the state, the the Department of Town and Country Planning said on Sunday.

“Self-certification is applicable to individual plots,” said senior town planner RK Singh, adding that people can avail the details of the new norms from the office of the concerned district town planner or from the department's website.

Now, the architect will have to submit an application in the office of the district town planner along with a copy of the plan, scrutiny fees and other documents. The district town planner will grant his approval after checking the documents.

Meanwhile, a meeting will also be held on Tuesday at Huda Gymkhana Club, Sector-29, Gurgaon for creating awareness about the new system, the senior town planner told Hindustan Times.
