North Korea is ready to be flexible in the search for a solution to the Korean nuclear crisis, said an Indonesian special envoy who travelled to the reclusive republic before another round of six-party talks.
"They are prepared to be flexible," Nana Sutresna told a news conference.
He travelled to the North's capital Pyongyang as well as to Seoul in South Korea last December to express support for a resumption of negotiations.
China announced last week that the second round of talks involving China, the two Koreas, the United States, Japan and Russia will begin in Beijing on February 25.
The first session ended inconclusively in August when the North Koreans expressed no interest in continuing the dialogue without concessions from the United States, which Washington refused.
Sutresna told reporters that North Korea said it is prepared to resolve the nuclear issue using a "principle of similarity" with the United States.
"It means that if America does A then North Korea similarly will do B, for example, and at the same time," he said.
"I guess this is one thing that can be noted as progress or flexibility by their side."

{{/usCountry}}In North Korea, Sutresna met the Stalinist state's Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun. He followed his Korean visits with missions to Beijing, Tokyo, Washington and New York to further discuss the nuclear issue.
