Jaswant Singh is trying to be politically correct in suggesting that the name of the mole he has mentioned in his book A call to honour need not be made public. In other words, he’s saying that the media should not carry news about corruption, leaks by those in power or embezzlement in the government and the Opposition. A rethink is called for.

Feeble rant

The manner in which the Opposition protests against the UPA government’s policies is disappointing. A mature way would have been to engage in a meaningful debate within Parliament, rather than use plates, spoons and bells to create a din outside Rashtrapati Bhawan. Such acts only lower the BJP’s already battered image. The ruling alliance is fortunate to have such weak Opposition.

Playing unfairly

Sharad Pawar has succeeded in politicising BCCI, at the same time miserably failing to address the issue of farmer suicides. The minister has plenty of time to hobnob in cricket matters but lacks the will to help farmers. This is shameful.

An Israeli job

India has lost thousands of its soldiers and civilians to terrorism. We should learn from Israel, who have gone into battle in reaction to the abduction of two of their men. The peace intiative with Pakistan has become India’s greatest weakness.

Back to their old games

Pakistan’s nuke adventure shows that their so-called approach of peace with India is insincere. They have their own ways of establishing peace through nuclear means. Nothing to be surprised since India is fully familiar with pakistan’s misadventurism.
