Paul Rybski and colleagues at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, came up with the "snackbot" after two years of research.

A New York Times reporter witnessed the “snackbot” delivering a granola bar.
"Hello, I'm the Snackbot," the Guardian quoted the robot, as saying.
It added: "I've come to deliver snacks to Ian. Is Ian here?"
