TAKING POT SHOTs at Gorakhpur-based saffron forces for dividing society on religious lines, Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav inaugurated the Dharmshala Bazar overbridge, which had been opened by BJP MP Yogi Adityanath a day earlier.
At the same time, he praised the ‘sincerity’ of local MLA Dr RMD Agrawal. Dr Agrawal, a one-time associate of Yogi Adityanath, is now at odds with the BJP MP.
On Monday, while returning from the BRD Medical College, the CM cut the ribbon near the bridge and inaugurated it for the public. Earlier Adityanath had clearly said that Dr Agrawal was a Hindu Mahasabha MLA and he himself was a BJP MP, thus he had no political connection with Dr Agrawal.
Meanwhile, representative of Adityanath Shital Pandey and other leaders blamed Dr Agrawal for deceiving Adityanath. However, at a public meeting at Narmal school ground, the CM directed SP activists to show respect to Dr Agrawal. Meanwhile, the CM assured the members of Gorakahpur Journalist Press Club to allocate Rs 15 lakh for establishing a well-equipped Press Club. He said that he is considering to meet demands of journalists to provide them residential flats.
