Now, cops say ESC chief ?kidnapped?

AFTER DENYING kidnapping theory for the past one week, the Mahanagar police finally, on Friday, altered the case of retired Electricity Service Commission chairman SK Sharma?s missing into that of a kidnapping.

AFTER DENYING kidnapping theory for the past one week, the Mahanagar police finally, on Friday, altered the case of retired Electricity Service Commission chairman SK Sharma’s missing into that of a kidnapping.

The police also named Hydel executive engineer Deo Vrat Mishra and his son Rohit, besides Bachcha Pandey, Pawan Tiwari and Alok Rai. The cops claimed to have arrested Mishra while others were reported absconding.

The named persons have been d accused of allegedly kidnapping Sharma over money dispute. The cops also claimed that Sharma had collected a hefty sum from Rohit for providing jobs to some candidates.

Though police officials claimed to have traced whereabouts of Sharma they kept mum when asked why the victim was not being rescued. They said Sharma had reportedly taken a hefty amount from engineer Mishra’s son Rohit and as he was not returning the money he was detained.

The cops claimed that a team was sent to Sidhhartha Nagar district to trace Sharma and the accused. The police claimed that Rohit and his kin had kidnapped Sharma following a plan hatched by engineer Mishra. Sharma was taken to Mishra’s Gomti Nagar residence initially from where he was shifted elsewhere.

However, the servant did not reveal if the youths had taken the money with them.
