Now cruise along the Narmada

IN A bid to promote tourism, the MP State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (MPSTDCL) on Friday launched the cruise boat from Bargi near here to Tindani near Kanha National Park in Mandla district and back. The tourists would have to pay Rs 2000 for one-way river voyage.

IN A bid to promote tourism, the MP State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (MPSTDCL) on Friday launched the cruise boat from Bargi near here to Tindani near Kanha National Park in Mandla district and back. The tourists would have to pay Rs 2000 for one-way river voyage.

Tourists would have a voyage of 90 kilometers on the Narmada. They would alight at Tindani and from there travel to Kanha National Park by road covering 68 km.

A team of 12 officials from Tourism Department, led by retired Commander Rajendra Nigam who is advisor for development of water sports and adventure tourism to MP Government, cruised before approving the route.

The cruise would take six hours to travel 90 km from Bargi to Tindani. The cruise boat can accommodate 70 persons but under the package tour the department would allow a maximum of 50 persons and minimum 20 persons.

To make the journey interesting, the MPSTDCL has made arrangement of music show on board besides providing catering facility.
