Delhi cricket not only saw a new low on the field on Tuesday, there was worse to come off the field. Sports Committee member Naresh Sharma (Tappu) had a vicious altercation with the mediapersons who had come to cover the Delhi-Himachal game and also abused them.

Even as other DDCA officials -- Executive Committee members Vineet Kumar, DS Bawa, Chetan Chauhan (vice-president), Sunil Khanna (joint secretary), Anil Jain (chairman of selection committee), ex-Sports Committee members Pramod Jain and Ashok Sharma -- watched with glee, Tappu threatened the reporters saying that he'll throw them out of the ground and bar the gates.

The reason for his outburst was completely unclear because he suddenly came up to a couple of reporters and rudely told them to stand where they were and not move around the ground. When he was asked if he owned DDCA he said, "Yes, I do. Being the incharge of ground committee, I call the shots here". The quarrel further heated up when he accused the reporters of coming to Kotla to picnic and have lunch. At which point things threatened to go out of control.
