Now, turn out the 'other' terrorist

Is Zarqawi actually dead? Sometimes, America claims that it had killed some terrorist but later on, denies the killing. However, if the news is true, it is good because no sane person can ever support the tactics employed by the likes of Zarqawi which target innocent Iraqi civilians. But what about the state terrorism unleashed by the Bush administration in Iraq? Are not Zarqawi's brand of terrorists the outcome of such acts started by Bush's war on Iraq?

No sensible person can also support the kidnapping of aid workers or the murder of journalists who have died in record numbers trying to report the realities of life in Iraq since the war in 2003.

But what about the state terrorism unleashed by the Bush administration in Iraq? Are not Zarqawi's brand of terrorists the outcome of the state terrorism started by Bush's war on Iraq? The illegal invasion of Iraq by America and UK without UN Security Council's sanction, launched solely on the assumption that Iraq possessed Weapons of Mass Destruction which incidentally were never discovered, had left lakhs of people killed and maimed.

1,400 deaths by violent means were recorded in May 2006 by Baghdad's central morgue alone. Besides, numerous atrocities were committed by the US military, the names of which are engraved for ever in history: Abu Ghraib, Fallujah, Tal Afar, Haditha and many more.

In my opinion, USA should immediately recall its troops from Iraq and let the Iraqi people run their own country. The USA should not take the plea that it is there to protect Iraq's interests because such statements have been made by imperialist invaders in the past also which have not been found tenable. For example, the British said that they had come to India to give us a progressive rule; a statement which has proved to be untenable because of the progress achieved by India since independence despite the corruption and malpractices indulged in by its politicians.
