Prof Agarwal would be handing over charge to the new Vice-Chancellor of the KGMU Prof Hari Gautam on Monday and take over as dean of faculty and head of the Microbiology department. To stop private practice by the MU doctors, Prof Agarwal has sent a list to the State Government of the faculty members, requesting for NPA for all.

“Private practice is a major problem that damages the image of the KGMU, which is otherwise known for its expertise all over the world. If all faculty members start receiving NPA, it would be easier to nail them for running a clinic outside campus,” said Prof Agarwal .

In a short term of two months, Prof Agarwal managed to get appointment of nurses done on contract for the Trauma Centre and now ad hoc nurses would join the Gandhi Memorial and Associated Hospital too. He conducted two executive council meets and one hospital board meeting, that was pending for the last four years.

Prof Gautam was supposed to join on Saturday but the schedule was postponed for two days.
