NRIs launch portal for Indian auto market

A team of techies has launched a portal for Indian vehicle buyers, dealers, financiers and insurers.

Leveraging the booming automobile market and speedy growth of e-commerce in the country, a team of US-based software professionals from India has launched a portal for the Indian vehicle buyers, manufacturers, dealers, financiers and insurers.

Autoindia.com, formally logged in by Union Power Minister PM Sayeed at a function in New Delhi, offers a one-stop service on all areas of the automobile sector, including buying of new and used cars, motorcycles and scooters.

Autoindia.com is headquartered at Technopark at Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.

The website, with a Rs one crore investment and carrying over 500 pages of details besides links to pertinent portals, recorded about 27,000 hits within 24 hours of its launch on Friday afternoon, its Managing Director Binu T G said.

"Even before that, while under construction, we used to have an average of 3,000 visitors on autoindia.com a day," he told a press conference.

The group has plans to launch in the near future a portal called auto.in for international transaction of automobiles, he added.

It also offers education to customers in the area of technical aspects and innovations as well as option for calculating EMI and other finance options to the customer.
