THE NURSES posted at the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital have decided to launch an agitation against the State government’s decision to transfer the nurses in the same district.
The nurses claimed that the SRN Hospital was a part of the Allahabad University which had got Central status and the State government’s transfer decision was not effective on them.
District Nurse Association president Safia Khatun said they would give a representation to the Central government in this regard.
Despite being a part of the AU, the list of all the nurses and paramedical staff posted at the SRN Hospital was prepared and sent to the AD (health) office to comply with the transfer orders, she said.
“This was done when a detailed list of all the employees and staff posted at the SRN Hospital was already sent to the AU VC for completing the formalities of Central status,” she added.
Safia Khatun said they were also planning to launch an agitation against the State government for creating such a chaotic situation.
It may be recalled that the DG (health) had recently issued directions to transfer all the nurses, paramedical staff and lab technicians from one hospital to another in the same direction, in compliance with the HC’s order.
The transfer list is expected to be released on May 7.
