I went crazy gorging on Cambodian food, says Ashmit Patel.

1 Fiji Islands: Fiji is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The beautiful, clean water and white sands are an awesome sight. I was once shooting there and stayed back for two days just to scuba dive. It was an out of this world experience.

2 Maldives: It is paradise on earth. I wanted to scuba dive there, but I had a bad cold and the medical officer didn’t let me. I had fun snorkelling though.

3 Vietnam and Cambodia: They are two truly outstanding countries and have been through war, turmoil and dictators. People have suffered a lot, but have overcome it all. The spirit of the people is amazing. They have a zest for life and look forward to a brighter future. The food is superb. I went crazy gorging on Cambodian food.

4 Cape Town, South Africa: One of my favourite places. I went there for a film premiere years ago, but couldn’t explore much. I would love to go back and enjoy the safaris, the parks and the wildlife. I am looking forward to going to Africa soon and exploring the massive continent, including the Sahara Desert — there’s too much to do.
