THE DELHI High Court directives to the UP and Delhi Governments on Friday to find a solution to the ongoing Delhi-UP tussle on plying of buses notwithstanding, UP transport minister Naresh Agarwal discussed the issue with Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit on Thursday and sent a team of UPSRTC officials to Delhi to have a detailed discussion with their counterparts.

Talking to HT here on Friday, Agarwal said he acted as per the advice of Dixit.

She had told him on phone that the officials of both the states should meet and prepare a list of points on which they ‘agree’ and ‘disagree’. He said the Delhi chief minister had promised to arrange a meeting of the Delhi transport minister with him in her presence to discuss the ‘disagreed’ points of the ongoing controversy.

Naresh said that the case filed in the Delhi High Court by the UP government was only for seeking a directive to the Delhi government for making CNG available to the UPSRTC buses in Delhi as the same was not available in the Noida and neighbouring areas. The court, however, took up the entire issue and summoned transport secretaries of both the states and directed them to sort out the issue within a week, he added.
