Earlier, it was DDU Education Center, which used to have almost all the top positions in the merit list. The school enjoyed this record for three years.

Gradually, the BNSD Shiksha Niketan came up with flying colours and gave a jolt to Deen Dayal Upadhyay School and got the highest number of positions at the Intermediate and High School examinations. Only last year, the school had to get into legal battle for carrying out the scrutiny of answer books of its students and get them declared position holder through the court order following the scrutiny results.

Another prominent school of the city, Dr Virendra Swaroop Center, which used to hog the limelight by virtue of its students occupying top positions in the State merit list of the UP Board, has been left behind for the second consecutive time. Not a single student of this school could occupy a place in the merit list of the Intermediate examination.

For this surprising trend senior teachers of city colleges hold the self-center examination process and the changed evaluation process of answer copies responsible.

A senior teachersaid, “ The emergence of lesser known schools in the city in the merit list is to some extent due to the self-center examination process adopted by the State Government.” He also pointed out that the objective questions and computer science question paper had helped students in securing high marks, added the teacher.
