An old man and his three grandchildren were reportedly burnt to death while sleeping in their home in a Bihar village, apparently over a murder dispute.

Lalbihari Singh, 60, his two grandsons aged 10 and 6 as well as his four-year-old granddaughter were killed on Wednesday night when their home in Bhojpur district's Rani village was torched by miscreants to teach them a lesson, media reports said.

The house was locked from outside to prevent them from escaping.
Lalbihari Singh was under pressure to give statement in a local court in favour of an accused in a murder case. He was threatened after he refused to do so.
However, a police official was quoted as saying: "It was merely an incident as they were badly burnt and died."
