Omar, 96 overnight, crawled to 118 while Mohammad Ashraful was batting an attractive 70 with Bangladesh going for lunch at a strong 302 for two.

Pakistani bowlers had another tiring session and failed to get a breakthrough after Bangladesh resumed at Wednesday's 240 for two.

Omar achieved the three-figure mark with a dodgy edge through the slips cordon to become one of four century-makers for Bangladesh in 23 Test matches.

Aminul Islam, Ashraful and Habibul Bashar (two centuries) are the others.

Omar, who opened the innings, completed his century off 292 balls and featured 16 boundaries.

Omar, who raised Bangladesh's best ever 167-run partnership for any wicket with Habibul Bashar on the first day, had so far added 122 runs for the third wicket with Ashraful in 260 minutes.

Pakistan had its chance to break the partnership but seamer Umer Gul could not hold on to a hard Ashraful drive off his own bowling when the batsman had added just two to his overnight score of 34 runs.
