"The state government's helicopter carrying the chief minister, minister of state for home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo and political adviser to CM, Devender Singh Rana, took off from Chougan (a big ground at Kishtwar) at 3.53pm, but it made an emergency landing at the same place after five minutes as the pilot detected some snag in the helicopter," said a police officer in Kishtwar.

Omar had gone to Kishtwar to lay the foundation stone of the University Campus. He also addressed a public meeting there. Police have confirmed that everyone in the helicopter was safe and the chief minister left for Jammu by road at 4.15pm from Kishtwar.
