One suspected armed activist was killed in an encounter between police and armed activists at Langol Hill area in Manipur's Imphal West District on Wednesday night, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided Langol Hill area under Lamphal police station in Manipur's Imphal West District.
When the team reached near a hideout it was fired upon by the armed activists and the police team also retaliated and the exchange of fire lasted about ten minutes, police said.
The armed activists managed to escaped from the spot under the cover of darknes. The police team during further search in the area recovered a bullet riddled body.
No casualties were reported from the police side, police said adding one .38 revolver with two ammunition was recovered from the deceased, sources added.
