Prohibitory orders were clamped in Manawar when a mob pelted stones and opened fire at the area police station in which a person killed and eight others injured following a road accident last night, police said.
Police had to open fire into air to bring the situation under control and thereafter prohibitory orders under Section 144 of IPC, banning assembly of four or more persons, was imposed in Manawar area, they added.
Trouble started when Munandrapal alias Gollu, son of former MP Chhatarsingh Darbar, along with his supporters stopped a bus near Lunhara area and asked for the conductor, with whom he had some dispute some days back, police said.
The bus driver turned panic and in a haste crushed to death one Kamlesh and reached Manawar police station. The mob's temper flared up after the accident and it reached the police station, pelted stones and opened fire in which one Dipak was killed and eight others injured, police said.
The police also had to fire into the air to disperse the mob. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Virendra Singh said that Gollu and 14 others have been arrested in connection with the violence. Singh said that a Magisterial probe has been ordered into the violence.
