An activist has been killed in an encounter at Ningombam Lamkhai in Manipur's Imphal West District, police said today.
The encounter took place between a combind team of police and Maratha Light Infantry personnel and armed activists.
While one activist was killed during the encounter that lasted for about ten minutes, the others managed to escape.

One .32 pistol with two live rounds were recovered from the spot, the police added.
