Dressing celebs is no easy talk, any designer will tell you. So how about dressing 50 divas for one event? Designer Archana Kochhar has associated herself with the NGO Beti and enlisted the help of stars like Mugdha Godse, Amrita Rao, Parvathy Omnakuttan and Neelam Kothari to make a point.

“The highest numbers of female infanticide are in this country, especially in areas like Punjab and Rajasthan. When I heard about the NGO I agreed to do this charity show to raise funds,” Kochhar explains. Her theme, Secret Garden, takes inspiration from the four seasons, each being represented by a separate line. “I have put in a lot of effort and money into this venture, they are completely new collections that will be presented,” she reveals. “This is not for my own personal benefit, but for the cause.”

Kochhar explains her motivation, saying, “We spend so much money doing shows for ourselves. Here we can raise money for a good cause because people tend to be more generous when they’re at an event. Asking them to donate on their own will only garner a small amount.” One of the garments will be auctioned and the proceeds will go to charity.
