The bowl-out had to be resorted to after rain intervened during the ONGC innings. None of the Sonnet players — Aakash Chopra, Rahul Diwan, Sunny Sherawat and Mayank Sidhana —could hit the stumps while Mithun Manhas and captain Rizwan Shamshad were on target for ONGC.

The bowl-out turned out to be a blessing for ONGC as the target of 241 appeared to be a long haul for their batsmen. When rain came down, ONGC were 17 for 1 in 3.4 overs.

Earlier, Sonnet’s Yashpal Singh (63), Manan Sharma (53) and Mayank Sidhana (45) helped them to 240 for eight in 40 overs.
