Famous folk singer Narendra Singh Negi addressed a public meeting in Pauri from the United Raksha Morcha (URM) forum on Friday. In the meeting, he said that he understood the limitations of the two national parties where the candidates were decided by the high command in Delhi. They were selected without any reference to the problems of the area and aspirations of the people and it was high time that one understood the political fallacy before it got too late to alter things, he added.

Negi further said that it would be futile to expect the BJP to improve the condition of the state when the party's two chief ministers could not improve their own hometown, Pauri. He also said that he had written, Nau Chammi Naraina and Ab Kathga Khelo that exposed the corruption rampant in both the national parties and thus maintained his distance with them. According to him, his association with URM was only because it was a regional party of educated people and ex-servicemen who had the development of Uttarakhand in their heart and were striving to achieve it.

With his song Bola Bhey Bandu Kan Uttarakhand Chenu Cha (Tell brothers and sisters what sort of Uttarakhand you want), he asked people to vote for URM candidate Manohar Lal Pahari to bring into being the Uttarakhand of their dreams.
