G.V.L. Narasimha, BJP’s national executive member who conducts surveys, said A.C. Nielson has already undertaken many polls for the Congress. “We have no problem with that. But, the manner in which assumptions have been made to create a ‘feel good factor’ for the Congress makes it a PR exercise.”

BJP leaders said the poll was completely at variance with ground realities and defies the basic political understanding.“In Bihar, all projections were made with the illogical assumption that the Congress, RJD and LJP, are together. For Jharkhand, the same assumption has been made despite the JMM wanting to contest all 14 seats,” said Narasimha.

The votes of these estranged partners were added to give the “non-existent UPA” 28 of the 54 seats in the two states.
